Realms FAQ
The Realms FAQ is a collection of frequently asked questions about our site. If you have any other questions you would like to ask, please do so in the Questions/Comments board.
What are the Realms/RoLaS?
The Realms is short for The Realms of Light and Shadow. This is an exciting role-playing site that is based on a book series by the admin, Realms Master.
RoLaS is the acronym for it.
What is RP?
RP is Role-Play. To role play means to take on the role of a character or being, such as in a video game, and act as they would. Thus the 'play' part.
What is an RP forum?
A role playing forum is a forum where you, as a member, create a character and post their actions. It sounds difficult, but in truth, it takes very little effort and only a few minutes of your precious internet time.
What do I do here?
You, as a member, can do virtually anything you want on the site. Feel free to explore and post as you will, but please abide by all rules.
What is spam?
Spam is a junk post.

Annoying
Message
Spamming is the worst thing you can do on this site, even if it is a bit hard to keep the conversations on topic. 
If you are being random and bored, please do so in the Out of the Realms board.
What things will affect how I post?
Experience points
Your number of posts are your experience points. You earn them by posting. Junk posting does not count! You will not be allowed to gain points by posting nonsense, or short, one-line posts. Please make an effort to make your posts at least more than two lines. This makes the RPG more enjoyable for all of us, and if you gain points by randomly junk posting, then it is not fair to the rest. ((See Rules))
Setting Effects
Be sure to read the description of the board you post in, and remember to apply the effects of the setting in your posting. For example: the Shrikaan Waste is a desert, therefore it will be hot, there is a lack of shade and water, etc.
Groups
You are allowed, and encouraged, to form groups. If you've read any fantasy books you know that there's usually a group of companions that go on to save the day. Well, here's your chance. To form a group, meet at the Ambermill Inn and post in the 'Chance Meeting' board. Once your group is formed, you can come up with a name for it if you wish. Groups are helpful in completing quests and for battles.
Where can I find Realms-specific information, such as posting ranks and deities?
There is much to learn about the Realms. Visit the Hall of Scrolls to learn more about the world.
Please note that this thread will be updated if further questions are asked in mass.
